The Division welcomes all new and continuous trainees and is delighted to offer you this information about the services offered by this office.

Guidance and Counseling Services:

This office was established for several purposes; to solve academic, personal and financial needs of trainees in BTI, to study the phenomena that occur in trainee behavior and giving advice and consultation to trainees who request them. In addition, the office is responsible for following up trainee affairs for cases such as : withdrawl from the semester, dismissed trainees, trainee warnings, counselling the high absenteeism trainees, and counselling the low acheivers.

Guidance and Counseling Program

The guidance and counselling program and services provided at BTI complements and supports the Institute’s mission, and objectives. It provides a full range of developmental guidance instruction, counselling, consultation and coordination of activities and services.

The broad goals of the institute guidance and counselling program are to:

Counseling Methods

The office has its own preventative procedures aiming at preventing problems and difficulties. In adition to remedial ones aiming at solving different problems appropriately, individually or in groups. As well as handling cases brought from the different Training Divisions and studying negative attitudes.

Trainee Activities

The office offers a variety of activities and opportunities in order to develop trainees’ personalities. It also attempts to develop trainees’ abilities by encouraging them to invest their free time in valuable activities.

The office provides different activities and programs for both genders; these activities include: poetry contest, lectures and seminars, a fine art exhibition, and a cultural contest. In addition, sports activities are offered, these include football, basketball, a marathon, and other activities.

The activities office also organizes competitions between the teams from each Training Divisions and rewards the winning teams. Trainee teams also compete against other organizations and companies in the community.

Trainee Services

Our office provides trainees with a number of various support services such as transport facilities cards, car park facility, and lockers to assist trainees in keeping their materials safe.

Scholarships & Exemption from Training Fees

The purpose of Exemption Law from training fees to assist Bahrainis registered in the Institute at their own expenses from needy families, rewarding outstanding trainees to incite and encourage them to exert further effort and diligence, and finally assisting the institute employees’ sons and daughters as an incentive factor for them.

All Bahraini trainees are illegible to apply for financial Assistance if they satisfy certain conditions. A trainee wishing to benefit from such a scholarship shall submit an application to Guidance & Counseling Division, and fill in the designated form available at the cashier with a token amount during stated periods for submission attached with the documents.

BTI Trainees Council

BTI open the doors for trainees to participate in the decision making process through the elected trainees council. The main target of this council is to strengthen the links between BTI top managements and trainees and provide them with a better role in contributing effectively towards the enhancement of BTI training services, and towards the development of their training and also organizing a variety of events. The council consists of 7 members elected yearly by all registered trainees and according to certain criteria during stated periods announced.

Trainee Guide

An annual publication contains all the rules and regulations of BTI and whatever the trainees need to know about BTI.

While you are most welcome to phone the office of Guidance & Counseling for more information and details, we encourage you to drop by our office, located in Building 7, Rooms 211 to 216, any time the need arises.

Induction Day

New trainees will be familiarized with BTI rules and regulations and will be introducing them to their new program. The induction days of training year 2007-2008 will be held on Wednesday 19th September & Thursday 20th September in hall 7A.
