Role of the Department
The training programmes offered by the department are designed to satisfy the needs of various employers in Bahrain like Construction and maintenance departments of various ministries, Consulting engineering firms, Contracting firms dealing with construction and maintenance works and all major industries.
In order to meet the mission of the Bahrain Training Institute, the department offers the following programmes :- BTEC National Diploma in Construction
- BTEC First Diploma in Construction
- Craft Diploma and Craft Certificate level courses.
- Short company-specific courses satisfying the requirements and needs of the employers in Bahrain.
To enable it to service the requirements of industry in an effective manner and maximise its resources, the department has close links with the industry and has set-up a multi-disciplinary Programme Management Committee, which advises on training and related issues.
History of the Department
The Department of Civil Engineering Technology was set up during 1996 to meet the demands of industry by providing training in the construction field. The department provides training through courses ranging from Craft Certificate to Higher National Diploma.
